Just to Sit in Your Space
Over the last three months, God has given me the incredible opportunity to get to do life with my team leader, Kaylin. To know her is to love her. She is one of the most wise people I have ever known and walks in so much love and gentleness. Her smile and joy is contagious to everyone around her. She draws people and loves them each individually in the way they need it.
As the three months that she gets to spend with me comes to a close, I have found myself just desiring to sit in her space. To spend my free time soaking up the time I do have with her and soak in the wisdom she holds. She has been a huge part of helping me grow in my relationship with the Lord and find healing throughout our time together. Whether it was sitting with me as I sobbed or calling out my new areas of victory she has showed me so much of how Jesus loves. I just want to be around her and see more of Jesus in her.
Although, this pails in comparison to what I get to have access to when I just sit at the feet of Jesus.
I get to soak in the sweetness of his presence and the tender love he lavishes on me. When I sit in the presence of God, I do not have to strive or to keep it lo together. I just get to be. To rest in knowing that he is enough to satisfy my every need and every desire. He is enough to bring good out of bad and to make all things work together for his good (Romans 8:28). To be fully known, fully loved and fully satisfied. I don’t know about you, but that is where I want to spend my time.
Just sitting in his space.
I pray that as I continue to sit at the feet of Jesus and abide in him that I will begin to look more and more like him and that the people around me would see that and want to know what is different. That is the cry of my heart.
General Updates:
My squad and I have spent the last month in Jaco, Costa Rica doing a variety of ministry from lightpost painting to homeless ministry. We have seen the Lord move in so many powerful ways! For me, this last month, in short, was a season of growing in knowledge of the attributes of God, learning about the spiritual gifts God has given me and how he wants to use those, and building new deep friendships in my squad! Today, my team is traveling to Nicoya, Costa Rica to spend two weeks doing ministry there! We are so excited to see what the next two weeks bring as we serve a local church there. Prayers would be appreciated for safe travels home for all of the team leaders, safe travels for my team to Nicoya, and open and ready hearts for what the Lord has in store for us!
Thank you for walking this journey with me!
With Love,
Kalyssa

What a sweet send off. I love how you have grown and am excited for all that God has for you as you sit at His feet. See you in a month!
That is wisdom for life. I love the way you put that . . . “be in His space”. To know that He is always with us and any time we choose, the space we are in can be His space.
That truth hit my soul in a new way reading your blog. I will take that with me for along time.
Remain in his space, He will continue to grow you in being an influencer of others for His kingdom.
Miss you
See you in January
