I bet you are wondering what it really looks like to be living in Gainesville, Georgia doing training camp for the World Race. Well if you have been wondering, your in luck! Today I am gonna break down a typical day in the life, so let me take you with me today!

6:30 am  First alarm

Whether or not I get up right then is a different story…

6:45 am Shower time!

Between 7:15 and 7:45 am Walk down to the Fin’s Place

I head down to Fin’s Place, which is our indoor hang out spot! If I get there around 7:15 I will spend some time studying my bible and writing in my journal. If I get there on the later end, I will say hi to some of my squad mates and head to breakfast.

8:00 am Breakfast time!

Typically we have fruit and some other main dish such as oatmeal, yogurt, or breakfast burritos

9:00 am Devotional time!

Each day a different one of our team leaders leads us in a devotional. This looks like spending time in silence and solitude with God, rewriting Psalms, deep diving into scripture, and so many other things. I have loved getting to explore different ways to study scripture through these devotionals.

10:00 am Session!

We have had the honor of having a variety of speakers come and speak on a range of topics during this time. This is a special time for all three of the squads on campus to come together and dig into the word together!

12:00 am Campus Cleaning!

We have an amazing hospitality committee on our squad that is helping us to be able to keep campus clean. From emptying trashes across campus, to restocking toilet paper in the porta potties. We as a squad get to help with these tasks as the hospitality committee needs during this time.

12:30 am Lunch time!

A few of the guys on my squad countdown to the next meal every single day, so lets just say lunch is always much anticipated!

1pm-3pm Free time!

During this time, I tend to do a variety of things. Typically, I play a card game or two with some squad mates. Some people nap and others work on blogs or editing pictures. It truly is a time to just do what best refreshes you for the rest of the day.

3pm Committee Activity

Each day we have a different activity planned during this time. Monday it is a move your body activity. Tuesdays and Thursdays it is a Fundraising activity to help those who are not yet fully funded. Wednesday is storytelling which is everything from verbal storytelling to getting blogs written and posted and finally Friday is squad fun!

4pm Squad Session

During this time, we get the opportunity to dive into a variety of the more challenging topics as a squad. Sometimes the sessions are videos and sometimes we have the opportunity to have one of our squad coaches and squad mentors speak to us on a topic. It has been really awakening to learn and grow in areas I have been lacking in through this!

5pm Dinner

At night the guys and girls split off during dinner time for some men’s and women’s time!

6pm Team time!

Every team time has a different theme and this is a time that we get to grow as a smaller group. Our teams are our smaller groups within the squad that we will be doing everyday ministry with every day while overseas, so it is really special to get to grow together in preparation for starting overseas ministry in a little over a month.

7:15 pm Freetime/Additional Activity

Depending on the day, we either head into free time for the rest of the evening or every other day we have an evening activity. Some of the evening activities include, Women’s study, worship or movie night!

9:45 – 10:15 pm Head back to camp for bed

Depending on how tired I am at this point in the day, I normally head back to camp, brush my teeth and was my face and head to bed for the night  around 10 ish so I can wake up refreshed for the next day.

So there you have it! A typical day for me right now. On the weekends we usually have sabbath time. This means we get our phones during the day and we get freetime to spend time with the Lord, contact family and friends, and do other things we need to do to reset for the rest of the week.

That’s all for now! Love you guys and so thankful for all your prayers and support as I grow closer to God and find my true identity in him.

  2. Hey babe,
It’s been fun to read about your daily schedule. Just hearing about all the time you are spending with God encourages me to spend more time with him myself. I’m praying for you. I miss you tons!
